The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office checked 24 Port Charlotte businesses last night to see whether or not any of them sold alcohol to underage customers.
The office reports none of them did.
Its juvenile operations unit runs random checks by using an underage uncover operative. This person tries buying alcohol or tobacco.
The office hopes each business checks this person’s ID, realizes the person cannot buy it, and denies the sale.
