The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office continues accepting applications for the citizens police academy.
The classes run on Tuesdays for eight weeks from 5:30 to 9 o’clock.
The session begins Jan. 5.
It meets at the Englewood Chamber of Commerce Building, but some classes take place at the sheriff’s office facilities in Punta Gorda.
Instructors provide an in-depth look at what they do, how they do it, and why.
The course offers you the chance to ride with a deputy on a 12-hour shift.
