A man Sarasota County authorities are calling a career criminal has been arrested in connection with at least five vehicle burglaries in the same area. Deputies day 22-year-old Floyd Mimm of Sarasota has been charged with several burglaries in the neighborhood northwest of Stickney Point Road and Tamiami Trail. Mimm was pulled over during a routine traffic stop for expired plates. When officers searched his car, they say they found a black bag containing a number of stolen items. Deputies say they recovered a GPS unit, radar detector, a bottle of oxycodone and several other items that were quickly connected to vehicle burglaries. A detective following-up on the case located additional victims today.
