Paving the way for progress: A number of charging stations for electric cars will be installed in Sarasota County over the coming year. In fact, charging stations will begin to appear all over the west coast, including hundreds in the Tampa Bay area. It’s all in expectation of a rapid expansion in the gas-saving, emissions-reducing electric car market. At least thirty charging stations will be installed at parking lots in Sarasota and Manatee Counties by the end of 2012. All funded by a grant from the U-S Department of Energy.
