A popular part of Warm Mineral Springs is open for business, while the Springs remains closed. Café Evergreen’s opened its doors in an historic building off U.S. 41 in Nokomis. The Herald-Tribune reports the cafe’s specialty is healthy food, including grass-fed burgers, juices and smoothies. Owners Ted and Annette Weinberger were forced to close their Springs location when Sarasota County and North Port couldn’t come to terms on keep the Springs open last summer. Instead of walking away from an eatery they’d run since 2009, they started looking for a new place to operate, and they found a their new home in Nokomis.
