Construction employment has dropped off in the region, but it remains near its highest level since the end of the Great Recession.
An analysis from the Associated General Contractors of America puts it at 21,000 workers.
Charlotte County had 3,700 people working in the building trades in June.
That represents an increase of nine percent from the same time last year.
