It was on November 3rd that police arrived at Venice High to investigate a bomb threat called into the school that prompted students, teachers and staff to evacuate. The campus was given the all-clear after the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office bomb and K-9 units found no suspicious packages or devices. The Englewood Sun reports that police have identified a suspect. He’s a 12-year-old boy from Englewood. Venice police tracked him down through phone records and say that, at a meeting a week ago, the boy and his parents were cooperative. While there was discussion of a felony charge, he was not arrested.
