The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reports a jury duty scam.
The office says if your phone rings with someone claiming to come from the courthouse, then this person may accuse you of missing jury duty.
It claims this person may say that if you don’t pay a certain amount of money, then authorities intend to arrest you.
The sheriff says his office never calls to threaten an arrest in this manner.
