Sarasota County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man in connection with a bizarre arson case:
The arson charges are still pending against 45-year old William Combs of Sarasota, but he has been arrested on a felony crimes against persons count and is held without bond. The Christmas Eve fire at his ex-girlfriend’s father’s house was already burning when she arrived and had to pull him from the house. As she did, authorities say Combs rammed the burning house with a car, coming to rest about 10 feet into the house. He got out of the car, bur fell to the ground unconscious. Deputies arrested him this weekend as he was released from the hospital.
