Punta Gorda Police have arrested a suspect in Monday’s break in and burglary at the Slip Knot Lounge on Tamiami Trail. Employees discovered someone took a hammer to the businesses glass back door, and stole alcohol and cigarettes and money from two vending machines. The hammer was recovered at the scene. The lounge had video surveillance and police say they only had to look across the street at the Budget Inn Motel. Investigators say they found their suspect in room 102, along with alcohol and other evidence. 42 year old Tiziano Cardia charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, Petty Theft, and Molesting a Vending Machine. He’s in the Charlotte County Jail on $6,000.00 bond.
