The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Michael Wayne Arnold, DOB 5/9/67, 2040 Palm Terrace, Sarasota, and charged him with eight counts of Withholding Information from a Practitioner in Order to Obtain a Controlled Substance.
Investigators with the Pharmaceutical Diversion Unit learned that from August 2010 to August 2011, Arnold was doctor shopping between five clinics in Sarasota, Tampa, Bradenton and Miami. In all, he obtained an estimated 10,775 pills of Oxycodone, Dilaudid, Carisoprodol, Morphine, Methadone and Xanax, approximately 879 pills a month.
Arnold has an extensive criminal history and, at the time of his arrest Sunday, was out of jail on bond for a DUI charge in May of this year.
