A Charlotte County man faces animal cruelty charges after officers say he left a dog outside wearing an embedded collar. WINK reports animal control got a tip that the lab-retriever named Murdock was left outside, tethered, for long periods of time and that his collar was digging into his neck, causing him to bleed. The dog also tested positive for heart worms. The god’s current foster family says he’s doing very well now and is ready for a forever family. Deputies arrested Murdock’s former owner, Joseph Cavaleri yesterday, and he claims the dog was never left out overnight and the cuts were from running around in the yard.
