Allegiant Air’s adding service to eight new destinations from Punta Gorda Airport. Tourism officials say this is not just a big boost for business in Charlotte County, but the effects will be felt across Southwest Florida. Allegiant will start service to Allentown, Ashville, Bangor, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Moline/Quad Cities, Springfield/Branson and Youngstown. Some of the flights will have regularly scheduled service beginning as early as October; others will begin closer to December. If you purchase flights before August 6, you can get deals as low as $69.
