Venice Police Department wrapped up an investigation of a bank robbery Wednesday, July 3, with the arrest of Michael Lynn Baird (DoB 1-7-60): . Baird is accused of robbing Bank of America, 304 W. Venice Ave., June 26 around 1 p.m.
Baird has a lengthy criminal history including a prior arrest for another bank robbery in Manatee County. Venice Police Chief Tom McNulty credits the successful results of the investigation to the quick response of the patrol units and detective division on the day of the robbery, and to members of the community who came forward with information.
Baird was located and arrested in Manatee County by the Venice detective division with assistance from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
