An alleged home burglary in Port Charlotte on Sunday had to do with a child.

Reports from the sheriff’s office show 21-year-old Deandra Williams entered the bedroom window and opened the front door for his 18-year-old sister, Dejiana Bryant.

The Charlotte Sun reports Williams tried kicking down a door to a locked bathroom.

He apparently grabbed a knife from the kitchen, but dropped it before getting to the bathroom.

Williams supposedly demanded to have the child he shares with someone in the house, but the woman refused. The intruders then left.

An investigation led to Bryant, who said she did not know what happened because she stayed inside the home’s front entrance.

A background check shows Williams on probation for battery in Sarasota County.

The sheriff’s office arrested them both.
