Residents of Sunshine Lake aren’t in a very sunny mood, and that’s because of algae. It’s gotten so bad, that some residents moved out, and others are wondering how much worse it can get. Charlotte County removed algae from Sunshine Waterway, which feeds the lake, about a year ago, but it didn’t completely resolve the algae problem. NBC2 reports the county’s now planning a recharge well to keep the water in Sunshine Lake moving, and keep the algae at bay. No word on when that well will be installed.
