An alert Venice police officer has nabbed an armed robbery suspect wanted in Charlotte County. The officer was patrolling near Laurel Road and I-75 when he spotted a car type that’s familiar to every cop in the country: a Ford Crown Victoria. But far from being the typical police “plain wrap”, this one matched the description of a getaway car used in an armed robbery in Port Charlotte. After a call for backup, officers stopped and arrested 22-year-old Sherven Franklin of Tampa for the heist.
