Alcohol compliance checks of nine Punta Gorda area businesses Wednesday evening resulted in the arrest of one clerk for selling alcoholic beverages to an underage person.

The Juvenile Operations Unit issued a Notice to Appear to Lisa V. Glover, 21, of 11269 5th Avenue in Punta Gorda, who was working as a clerk at the Pilot Station, located at 26505 Jones Loop Road. According to the report, even though she asked for identification from the underage person, she sold them a 20 ounce can of Budweiser.

The businesses that were in compliance were the Grazin’ Moose, Shell Station, Walgreens, Circle K, Publix, Wal-Mart, Murphy Station and ABC Liquor.

The Juvenile Operations Unit conducts such unannounced alcohol compliance checks at various times and various locations throughout the county.
