A deadly accident closed Kings Highway in Port Charlotte last night.
The highway patrol says 23-year-old Andrew Smith of Punta Gorda drove his motorcycle south near the northbound I-75 on-ramp.
Troopers say 60-year-old Marie Virgile of Port Charlotte drove northbound towards the on-ramp.
They say Virgile did not see the motorcycle and pulled into its path.
Smith wore a helmet, but Bayfront Hospital still pronounced him dead.
The patrol has charged Virgile with failing to yield.
