It appears absentee voting is growing in popularity on the Sun Coast. Though Election Day for the Sarasota school bond referendum is next Tuesday, Sarasota Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent tells the Herald-Tribune that already more than 19-thousand absentee votes have come in. The last time Sarasota had a vote on the same school referendum issue in 2010, a total of about 11-thosuand people used absentee ballots. And in 2006, just 36-hundred people voted that way.
