The 2013 Suncoast Superboat Grand Prix Festival attracted more visitors to Southwest Florida than last year. According to the Herald-Tribune over 110,000 people attended last months events, and added over $17 million into the local economy. Visit Sarasota County and an outside research firm say that number was 9% higher than 2012’s festival. Just over half the people who attended the events weren’t from, Sarasota County, and only came for one day, 17% of non residents booked rooms at hotels and resorts. Most nonresident attendees say they’ll be back next year.
