Two area hospitals are going under the microscope for failing to verify that their Medicaid contracts comply with Florida law by an August 1 deadline. Venice Regional Bayfront Health and Bayfront Health Punta Gorda will join 29 other facilities listed by Gov. Rick Scott, who is concerned about the rising costs of healthcare over the past decade. No timeframe was given for when the audits would be conducted.
