The first of CCSO’s two free eight-hour boater safety courses to the public is full. CCSO Special Operations Commander Lt. Brian Harrison says the response to the course offering was tremendous, and he adds there will be another course they’ll announce later this year for the fall. Anyone who couldn’t get into this course should call the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary which offers the same course. State law requires everyone born after Dec. 31, 1987 to take an eight-hour boating safety course and pass a test to legally operate a boat in Florida.
