Three people, convicted in one of the largest flipping fraud cases in south Florida history, will be sentenced today (Friday) by a federal judge in Tampa. Joel Streinz, Paula Hornberger and George Cavallo are the only defendants who went to trial. Ten others, including conspiracy mastermind Craig Adams, and Rich Bobka, his chief lieutenant, also are expected to learn their fates next week. 19 people in all are under indictment in the scam. It involved the purchase and resale of Southwest Florida properties at greatly inflated prices and lies to mortgage lenders to get as much loan money as possible.
