A 16 year old boy from Lakewood Ranch has been arrested in connection with that deadly tractor trailor accident this morning on I-75. The driver of the tanker truck lost his life after he struck the rear of a Volvo at mile marker 211 around 3am which was ahead of him between University Parkway and Fruitville Road. After being struck by the semi police say the Volvo being driven by the 16 year old fled the scene. While, the tanker veered off the west grass shoulder, voerturned and burst into flames. The tanker driver was ejected from teh cab and pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released. The tanker was carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline. The crash closed the interstate for hours early today. Police found the Volvo and the 16 year old boy at Gateway Lakes Apartments and the boy was found at a Lakewood Ranch home and arrested. Police say there was a 15 year old boy in the car with the 16 year old at the time of the deadly crash. the investigation continues.
