One robber caught, another on the loose. Charlotte County deputies arrested Heidi Lynn Smith today for the Aug. 8 robbery of the Subway store on Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda. Smith is being held on a $27,500 bond in the Charlotte County Jail. Meanwhile, security footage shows a man attempting to rob the Bank United location on South Tamiami Trail in Venice just after noon today. Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says the man implied he had a weapon but never showed one. No word on how much money, if any, was taken. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police.
