North Port city commissioners are holding a special meeting today to approve the employment contract for Heather Taylor as the city’s new deputy city clerk.
Taylor had worked as a human resources administrative assistant for almost 16 years with the Defense Intelligence Agency while in the military, and has been the city of Venice assistant city clerk for roughly 3½ years.
A North Port resident, Taylor is filling a vacancy created in last October, when Kathryn Peto was promoted from that position to city clerk.
