Manatee Mineral Springs Park is being considered by the National Park Service as an addition to a list of roughly 600 parks part of the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. The importance of the park goes all the way back to the slavery era where it is believed a settlement of slaves happened in the Bradenton park in the early 1800’s.
