A Rotonda West man died in a crash Tuesday morning on US-41 at Port Charlotte Boulevard. According to a release from the State Patrol yesterday, 68-year old William Anthony Pickowitz was taken to Peace River Hospital following the 4:30am crash, where he was pronounced dead. He was northbound on US-41 in a 2002 Camry, when troopers say he drifted off the road. The car struck several obstructions in the east shoulder including a steel utility pole and a pedestrian sign before coming to rest still in the shoulder.
