The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating two crashes, one of them deadly, on I-75 yesterday.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 6 am and involved a sedan and pickup. Troopers say the sedan was stopped in the southbound left lane on the N. Jones Loop Road overpass with no lights on.
The pickup truck was traveling in the left land and rear-ended the sedan and sent the car into a spin causing it to strike a guardrail and ignite.
The driver of the impacted car died. Identity is not known at this time. A 30-year-oldf Venice man was, driving the pickup sustained minor injuries.
No other information is known at this time.
