Tropical Storm Fred is in line to affect the costal Charlotte and Lee Counties over the next few days. The National Weather Service issued a Tropical Storm Watch early Friday.

Tropical Depression Fred is currently located off the northeast coast of Cuba. Fred is expected to increase to Tropical Storm strength later today and continue tracking northwestward toward the Florida peninsula. As Fred moves northward just off the coast, the threat for localized flooding, tropical storm force winds, hazardous marine conditions, and perhaps tornadoes will all be possible.

Do not drive cars through flooded areas. The water depth and road condition may be unsafe. Stay tuned for further updates by listening to NOAA weather radio… and WENG Radio.
