For the third time in 13 years, the parent company of Winn-Dixie is filing for bankruptcy. South Carolina-based Bi-Lo is preparing to fil for bankruptcy sometime in the next 30 days. Bloomberg is reporting nearly 200 Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo stores could close as part of the bankruptcy filing. Currently, Winn-Dixie has stores in 5 states, including a number around our area in the Suncoast. No word if the store closures would include the locations in North Port, Venice, Englewood, Port Charlotte, or Punta Gorda.
