Temperatures falling back into the 30s and 40s have resulted in cold weather shelters being open to those in need.  They opened last night and will remain open yet again tonight. The shelters include the Salvation Army on 10th Street in Sarasota, New Hope Community Church on Biscayne Drive in North Port -they will open at 7pm- and Grace United Methodist Church on E. Field Ave. in Venice, which will open at 5:00 p.m. The Salvation Army will open their front porch at 4:00 p.m. and will start letting people inside at 6:30 p.m. Health officials are encouraging Suncoast residents that are outside to dress warm and limit skin exposure.
