A semi driver from North Port escaped serious injury following a 4-car crash in Polk County Monday. Sheriff’s deputies say a semi driven by 53-year old Sergey Zhuklevich was involved in a chain-reaction crash in Lake Wales. According to a report, Zhuklevich was driving west on State Road 60 when he began to brake for traffic. Another car behind him was able to stop in time to avoid a crash- another semi behind it wasn’t. The second truck jackknifed and was hit by an eastbound Jeep. The driver of that Jeep was critically injured and taken to an area hospital. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
