Two Miami detectives were shot by an apparent gang member Monday after the detectives arrived at a housing project. The detectives, in plainclothes, were following a lead when a group of men converged on them when several rounds were shot, including shots from a high-powered rifle. One detective was shot in the arm, the other in the leg. Damian Thompson was taken into custody and charged with two counts of attempted murder.
