The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is conducting traffic emphasis patrols next week.
SPEED ENFORCEMENT patrols will operate on the sntire length of Melbourne St. in Port Charlotte and on Placida Rd. between So. McCall Rd and Rotonda Blvd in Englewood.
TRAFFIC LIGHT ENFORCEMENT patrols can be found in Port Charlotte at Tamiami Trail and Midway Blvd along with Veterans Blvd. and Atwater St.
According to the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, Charlotte County has 22 vehicle deaths so far this year; there were 19 deaths this same time last year.
