A Punta Gorda woman has been charged with exploitation of the elderly after police say she took advantage of a woman with Alzheimer’s. Abby Resilus worked with Helping Hands Across Southwest Florida as a caregiver to the elderly and is accused of using the 87-year-old’s credit card to spend nearly $1,600 paying bills and buying plane tickets for a Jamaican vacation. The woman’s daughter noticed the fraudulent charges when checking her mother’s credit card accounts.
