Charlotte County Commissioners voted to accept the $7-million they’re supposed to receive. NBC2 reports Charlotte County’s money is to compensate for lost tourism. Counrty Commissioners don’t think they’re getting enough, but they said yes. Sarasota County is supposed to receive $14.2-million from the settlement. The Herald-Tribune reports county administrators have proposed using the money to help bridge operational budget shortfalls now projected through year 2023. The cash should be in the hands of local officials in the next 60 to 90-days.
