A woman who lost her husband in a deadly boating accident over 2-years ago has filed suit against the boat rental company, alleging they’re responsible. NBC2 reports Gina Hollis is suing the Freedom Boat Club for the Charlotte County Crash. Lee Hollis died when he was hit by a boat that crashed into his jet ski in 2013. Mrs. Hollis says Bruce Vilardi, the boat’s operator, shouldn’t have been on the water. The suit alleges Freddom “failed to verify that Mr. Vilardi was in possession of a valid driver’s license.” It turns out Vilardi’s drivers license had been suspened just before the crash for DUI, and thaty he weas on probation and wasn’t supposed to bve around alcohol. The Hollis suit claims the boat club should have had this information. Vilardi’s charged with DUI manslaughter.
