Jim Blucher’s filed the paperwork needed to make a run for a seat on the Sarasota County Commission next year. Blucher, who served eight years as a North Port City Commissioner tells the Herald-Tribune he’s beeing consdering a commission run for some time. If he wins, he’d be the first North Port residents to serve there since the mid 1990’s. Christine Robinson can’t run for re-election because of term limits. Blucher, a republican, shouldn’t be the only one after a commission seat. State Sen. Nancy Detert sayus she’s also thinking about running.
