Support’s growing in the Legislature for Senate Bill 548, which would make it illegal to smoke in your car if you’re with children 13 or younger with you. Backers of the bill say exposing children to second hand smoke raises their risk of illness. Opponents of the bill suggest there might be a few things more important for police to spend their time on. NBC2 reports seven other state’s have that such a law on the books now. California bans smoking in your car with anyone under 18.
