There will be no 35th Annual Florida International Air Show this year. The board of directors of the non profit that runs the event says they’ve canceled this years show set for March 27-29 at the Punta Gorda Airport. Organizers cite several problems, the largest is no presenting sponsor. They also site a lack of support from County Government, the Charlotte Harbor Visitor’s Bureau, and the Charlotte County business community. A spokesperson also says there are higher fuel and insurance costs. The Florida International Air Show’s been named one of the “Ten Best Air Shows in the World” by USA Today. Organizers hope to bring back the event next year.
