Authorities say a single-engine plane piloted by an Englewood man plowed into a father and daughter Sunday afternoon while making an emergency landing on Caspersen Beach. The man was killed, his daughter critically injured. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says the man and his daughter are from Georgia. The pilot of the 1972 Piper Cherokee, Karl Kokomoor, and his passenger, David Theen, both from Englewood, were not hurt. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
