The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrests of three people from Punta Gorda over vehicle thefts.

The sheriff’s office says the arrests have resulted from finding fingerprints from one of the boys on one of the stolen vehicles.

The office says over the last two months, it has taken similar reports of vehicles taken from places where their owners had initially parked them. The vehicles all ended up either nearby or back at their original starting points.

In each case, the owners reported items inside the vehicles either moved or taken. In some cases, the vehicles ended up with items left behind. In one instance, someone reported a handgun missing from the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says the fingerprints belong to 17-year-old Jacob Whaley. It has taken him into custody along with 17-year-old Anthony Hogsett and 18-year-old Anthony Hall.
