Woodland Middle School’s opening a food pantry for the families of its students tomorrow. The pantry, will be in an unused teachers lounge on campus. The Herald-Tribune reports it’s expected to open with about 970 pounds of food, including dairy products, fresh meat and fruits and vegetables. Other schools in Sarasota County already have food pantries, including North Port, Riverview and Booker high schools, Booker Middle and Alta Vista Elementary. The new pantry will be open from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
