The recent lull in tropical cyclone activity could come to an end later this week, with forecasters expecting a hurricane season that started strong and will finish in similar fashion. The Herald-Tribune reports June and July produced 4-named storms, above average for early in the season. We’re now approaching the peak of the hurricane season, late August through late September and meteorologists say atmospheric conditions that have suppressed storm activity in recent weeks should start to recede.
