A 39-year-old South Gulf Cove man is jailed after police say he broke into a home in El Jobean while the home’s owner was in jail.
First, the man told the homeowner’s son he used to live there and was collecting his property. Then the story changed, him saying the woman had told him to collect stuff and pawn it to get her out of jail. He left before deputies arrived, but the son, the woman, and a neighbor all confirmed who he was when shown a photo. Don Costa was arrested at Port Charlotte Town Center Mall after he caused a disturbance there.
