First a breakin, then a return to the scene of the crime to steal a car. That’s the scenario Sarasota investigators are piecing together today involving a homeless man who allegedly tried to make too much of a good thing. Detectives say 42-year-old Duane Muncie broke into a home in the 1500 block of Palmetto Lane and stole three flat-screen TVs and a document safe. Then, detectives say Muncie returned to the same house the following day and stole a B-M-W convertible. That resulted in a high-speed police chase that’s landed Muncie in jail today on a number of charges.
