The city of Venice needs its city manager in place NOW!

That’s why mayor John Holic said he and the council are on the fast track to get Edward Lavallee in place. He’s the retired city manager from Newport, Rhode Island, so he’s no novice, and the mayor says if he’s a go, Lavallee will have to hi the ground running in Venice. There are four employee contracts, a city budget that’s about a million dollars more than incoming revenues, pensions higher than generated property taxes, oh, and the city’s strategic planning workshop is on January 27. Word from Newport is that he can do it. Now its up to Venice officials to vote Lavallee in.
