A reminder that with New Year’s Day coming on Sunday, it’s another three-day weekend for many government employees. That means that government offices, banks and the post office will all be closed on Monday. No SCAT bus service on Sunday. Most rec centers closed with the exception of Payne Park Tennis Center and Arlington Park Pool, which will be open Monday afternoon, and Myakka River State Park which is open Sunday and Monday. Sarasota’s Lido Pool will re-open on Monday. Bobby Jones Golf Course open every day. Garbage will be picked up on its usual schedule and it’ll be free to park at meters and pay stations in Sarasota on Monday.
